A major £3.6 million extension to the School of Engineering at Cranfield University, in north Bedfordshire, which has been designed and project-managed by GSS, was opened on schedule in the middle of 2005.

The task was won in competition with several other prominent architectural practices, and is one of a number of recent projects at the university which GSS has designed and project-managed.

The extension includes research laboratories, offices, workshops, a virtual reality suite and wind tunnels. The university has developed a world-wide reputation as a leading international centre for the generation and application of knowledge in engineering, science, manufacturing and management.
