GSS Architecture Passes Quality Test With Flying Colours

GSS Architecture has passed its latest ISO 9001:2000 assessment with flying colours, and that means that all three offices in Northampton, Kettering and Bristol continue to meet the strict criteria required by this coveted quality management standard.

GSS was originally founded in Kettering in 1879 and since that time the firm has only had eighteen partners. Eight of those are currently working with the practice.

Partner David Allsop is responsible for overall quality management at GSS, working in conjunction with practice administrator Mary Lally. "We have always had a policy of taking the initiative and being recognised as business leaders," explained David. "And we were successful in passing the stringent tests for ISO 9001.2000 when the standard was first introduced. In fact, we were one of the first architectural practices in the country to do so. Mary and her administrative team have continued to do a fantastic job, and we are delighted that we have once again been judged to be worthy of this award."

The quality management system covers all internal management procedures, documentation and record-keeping, and places customer satisfaction high up the agenda. In the case of GSS it relates to all sides of their business - architecture, cost management and project management.

"It is vital that our quality management systems are rigorous and fundamentally sound", said David. "Having our ISO 9001.2000 certification renewed demonstrates that these have been independently audited and found to be completely up to standard. It means that our clients can continue to have complete confidence in our quality systems."
