Earl of Wessex Opens New 6th Form Centre

The Earl of Wessex has formally opened the new 6th form centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Bristol's oldest boys' school.

GSS partner Mark Stevens explained, "The £1.25 million project in Clifton includes a three storey extension to the school's grade II-listed main block, as well as an extremely colourful common room. This was once a rather gloomy area which included an old washroom, showers and toilets. This has been completed stripped out and redesigned and refurbished to the highest standards. It is difficult to believe the total transformation that has taken place! In this design, we have made a conscious effort to promote sustainability and to create an exciting and modern addition which complements and enhances the existing historic building. We were delighted that the Earl of Wessex was able to find time to see our work for himself."
