Planning Permission Received for College's £1m Library Extension

Moulton College has been granted planning permission to substantially extend the existing Library and ICT Building situated on the main site in Moulton.

The project, designed by GSS Architecture, is intended to deliver modern and essential ICT resource facilities and will provide a flexible learning space with a further 100 computer workstations in 440m2 of additional floor area. The new development will allow the existing library resource centre to be refurbished and upgraded to house the main book and non computer-based workstations.

Care will be taken to minimise disruption to the existing landscaping surrounding the college buildings and new tree planting, together with the existing trees and stone wall, will sit between the new facility and West Street. The £1 million project is due to start on site in November, with completion scheduled for August 2009. It is just the latest project in the multi-million pound redevelopment of Moulton College’s three campuses which has been designed by GSS Architecture. The extensive redevelopment has helped to make Moulton one of the top colleges in the country.
